Yoga

This semester, I'm taking a yoga class. I don't know where I get the idea, but I love doing yoga now. I had never done yoga before, to be honest, and I'm not very good at doing any kind of physical activity. Almost everyone wants to change their lifestyle and be more active and healthy, and I wanted to do the same too; maybe that's why I'm taking this class. My parents always say being healthy is the top priority cause nothing can replace our health, so I'm learning to take care of my body and mental health.

About our class, we are a total of ten, including the instructor. As soon as we come into a class, we start doing warm-ups and then getting into different poses, as our instructor suggests. Every lesson we learn new poses but some of them are pretty challenging because it needs concentration and balancing. I'm still working on that, hopefully getting better at it soon. Soft music plays as we do yoga during the class, and we usually close our eyes to feel the moment.  I sometimes feel like being somewhere else, a place where no anxiety, no stress, and nothing. Yoga helps me get rid of my thoughts and stresses in my daily life. I realized that how important to have a good mindset and positive attitude. When you have that, things look better and beautiful in a way. The last thing we do in your class is to place our hands together at heart, close our eyes, bow, and say "Namaste"- it means I see the light in you, and you see the light in me, and we respect each other.  At the end of every class, I feel more refreshed and more energetic. Thanks to yoga for making me feel better about myself.

  1. It is always good to have a hobby during school. I think that it gives you a mental break and allows you to have fun. It seems like yoga has been good to you. It gives you more energy and allows you to take a break from everything around you. This is how basketball makes me feel. I try to go to the YMCA as much as possible to clear my mind and have fun. It really does help.
