About last night

One of my friends came to Chicago, and we decided to do something interesting. He works at a truck company and drives one of them. He and his girlfriend moved to Washington last July, and since then, we haven't had much time to hang out.  So, we decided to watch a movie. I totally forgot how it feels like to watch a movie at the cinema. The last film that I watched at the cinema was "Frozen 2" with my Korean friend, Jenny. It sounds funny, but it's what it is. We had already talked about watching "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten rings" because everyone who I know seems like watching this movie at the moment, so I don't want to miss that one. After having dinner at a Mexican restaurant, we went to the cinema. Honestly, I had never been to a cinema since I came here and my first impression was insane! The cinema was huge, and I had no idea how many halls there were. I first was a little bit worried about watching the movie at the big crowded cinema because of Covid-19. Luckily, there weren't many people; I think it was about 15 people in that big hall. We sat in the middle of it, and the movie began after 15 minutes.

About Shang-Chi, it was fantastic! To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Marvel, but that doesn't mean I don't like its films; it means I haven't watched them all that they made. The CGI of the Shang-Chi was awesome, and I love the way that Marvel picked an Asian man to play the main role. There were many times that we saw people disrespected Asians, not to mention those bad stories I heard. It was a good idea to show Asian people that they are the same human beings regardless of their race. And I think people get that message through this film, and I love it. The story of Shang-Chi was interesting, as well as watching some Chinese culture in the movie. The martial art that actors and actresses are doing in the film demonstrates how much energy and time they put into making it perfect and compelling for the audience. The only thing I didn't like was Shang-Chi's clothes, just saying. Because his clothes looked so fake in my opinion, like wearing electric some kind of tough stuff as well as his sister's. I'd prefer other warriors' clothes because that makes them look more powerful. Overall, the film was amazingly done; the noise and background images were beautiful. I'm happy that I watched this film with my friends. It was so much fun!

To someone who hasn't watched this film, I'd say just go for it and watch it!

  1. I also haven't been to a movie theater in a long time, but I believe the last movie I saw was "Venom," which released in 2018. The second Venom film is coming out soon, so I may watch that in theaters soon! I am glad that you enjoyed the Shang-Chi movie. I have never heard of that film before, but I might watch it because of your blog!
